Faith, hope, enthusiasm and cheerful optimism
Created by Margaret and Mike 3 years ago
We'll always remember David, a lovely man full of faith, hope, enthusiasm and cheerful optimism. Margaret got to know him and Judith in the 1980s as the leaders of The Barn international outreach team in Cambridge, which Mike joined after our marriage in 1990. They had a superb gift of welcome and hospitality (with delicious food!) both to us on the team and to the many internationals who came along.
Another important link is Teignmouth. David and Judith had use of the family top floor flat on the seafront, and Margaret had her first home there, let as a holiday property when she moved to Cambridge. Each Spring before Easter for several years, Barn members were invited to a week's holiday with time to explore the Christian faith. The girls stayed in the top flat, the lads in Margaret's house. It is significant that we last met Judith at the Good Friday service in the town centre there in 2008, and that it's from Teignmouth that we'll be attending David's funeral service.
Their love for God and for each other shone out in their love and self giving for others. To them both…"Well done, thou good and faithful servant!"
